This afternoon, Year Six continued their topic on Living Things and their Habitats.
The children were tasked with classifying animals using a classification key. They looked at the animals’ observable differences and then came up with some yes or no questions in order to separate them into groups and sub-groups. The children enjoyed looking at the different animal pictures on the cards and deciding how to classify them scientifically. They worked well in pairs sharing ideas and then produced their own classification key in their books, making sure they used a pencil and a ruler. What an interesting afternoon!
