We have had an egg-tremely fun week in Reception learning about Easter. The children took part in the whole-school Easter egg competition. We had some brilliant entries; Sonic The Hedgehogs, famous footballers and even Rapunzel. We made Easter cards for our family by painting little chicks and adding feathers to them. We tried a painting technique called ‘bubble painting’ to create the eggs and wrote kind messages inside the cards. A highlight of the week was Easter baking. The children help to make chocolate crispy nests by crunching up Shredded Wheat, mixing in melted chocolate, scooping it into cake cases and topping each one with a shiny egg. We ended our week with an Easter egg hunt in our outside area. The children were thrilled to find little eggs hidden in peculiar places.
