This week, lots of boys and girls came back to school and started their new year group. In Year 2, we have been amazed at how sensible, hard-working and cheerful the children have been. We have been delighted to see their wonderful writing. The children wrote sentences all about their Summer holidays and illustrated them beautifully. In Maths, the children have been practising writing and drawing two digit numbers.
As we are a Rights Respecting school, the children have designed themselves as superheroes, as they are Rights Respecting Heroes! The children will learn lots about their rights over the year so this was a great way to start them off!
Finally, we finished our week by listening to the story ‘The Dot’. The children then created their very own ‘dot’ picture by turning a simple dot into a work of art.
We are looking forward to what the rest of the year will bring.
