As part of learning about the jubilee, the children in Reception started this weeks Forest School session in class. They looked at some photographs of the crown jewels and the kind of clothing that Royal Families might wear, both in the UK and in other countries. We then talked about Mother Nature and creating a King and Queen of our Forest School. What accessories do Kings and Queens have and where are their precious objects kept. Now how do we do that the Forest School way?
Well you collect beautiful pieces of nature and display them in a museum, you use those gems to decorate your cloak and crown, and you decorate sticks for sceptres of course! Back in class they voted for their Kings and Queens, all the resources will stay in reception over the next week as the children thought everyone had earned to right to be a royal, even if just for a little bit. Look how proud they are of their work.
