The children in Year 3 have had an amazing red, white and blue day celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. They began their day finding out some important facts about Queen Elizabeth II and her family. They enjoyed learning new information such as the number of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren she has, as well as her many responsibilities, including her weekly meetings with the Prime Minister. The children then enjoyed writing their own Top Trumps fact files about the Queen. In addition, they enjoyed a ‘street party’ picnic in the school playground and singing the national anthem (which they have been practising over the last few days). Later, the children created a piece of art work in the style of Ming Veevers Carter. Everyone was given a book to take home to share with their families and a sunflower seed to plant.
