Reception had a fun filled day celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II by coming to school wearing all things red, white and blue. We enjoyed learning about the Queen and her family across the week through our topic learning.
This week we have been looking at the Queen and learning all about her time on the throne for the last 70 years. We have enjoyed looking at photos of London and exploring where the Queen lives, decorating our own crowns to wear in school, painting dot pictures of her Majesty and writing sentences about her in Literacy.
We have been so excited for our Jubilee Picnic with the whole school (we even made a countdown in the classroom!) We all enjoyed our delicious picnic food at our street party, followed by yummy ice creams afterwards. We spent lots of time outside playing traditional games like; hook a duck, tin can alley, roll a penny, and coconut shy. We also loved the entertainment we got to see like the stilt walkers, opera singers, Singing Hinnies, and break dancers.
It is a day we will never forget!
