A final Reading Corner post for 2023. there have been so many great book recommendations throughout this year – from the children and from me. I hope that you have been able to read some of the books. The Christmas holidays are a great time for reading – there is so much free time and it’s so cold that we often find ourselves in the house a lot. This week’s books, both have a Christmas theme to enjoy and to keep alive the magic of Christmas spirit.
Kid Christmas (Age 4+): Young Nicky Claus works with his three uncles in the Claus Brothers Toyshop. Every child in the city wants a Claus Brothers’ toy – each is made with love and a dash of magic. But not every child is lucky enough to own a special toy.
Operation Nativity (Age 6+):Oscar and his little sister Molly are delighted to be spending Christmas at the majestic home of their grandparents, Lord and Lady Cuthbert-Anderson, although Mum and Dad seem rather less keen. Their holiday takes an unexpected turn when the Archangel Gabriel crash-lands on the roof in the middle of the night.
Both of these books are great for all ages, with plenty to discuss and enjoy as Christmas approaches.
