Year One have been so excited to use laptops this term.
It all started with the children learning the different parts of a laptop computer and a desktop computer – screen, keyboard, trackpad/mouse. Then the children were taught how to log onto a laptop computer, and then onto Purple Mash. Next, we focused on controlling the trackpad. The teachers asked the children to make a picture of a house using 2Paint on Purple Mash. The children had to concentrate to control the trackpad with one hand and click the button to paint with the other hand – we used stars on the trackpad to help us remember where to click! The children created some very impressive paintings of houses and showed fantastic determination when controlling the trackpad.
