This week in Nursery we have started learning all about the celebration of Easter.
We listened to the story Little Dove and the Story of Easter. The story helped us learn the meaning of Easter (apart from the Easter bunny and chocolate eggs!) We learnt how some bad men wanted to hurt Jesus and left him to die on a cross, but when his friends went to go and visit where he was buried they found he was not there and had rose again. This learning has helped us complete many different activities across the week such as; beginning out Easter cards, making chicks in the playdough area, rescuing eggs from the water tray, and painting eggs using potato mashers.
We had the opportunity to taste some hot cross buns this week too. We watched a Cbeebies video about a little bot explaining his Easter celebrations. On the video it talked about hot cross buns. We noticed a pattern on them, a cross, and this reminds us of how Jesus died. We all had a go at taking a little bite before deciding if we liked or disliked them. Lots of us found we really liked the hot cross buns, but some of us weren’t so sure.
