We have had an exciting arrival in Reception this week. Caterpillars have joined our class and they have already started to make their cocoons and we cannot wait to see them transform into butterflies.
During the week, the children enjoyed reading ‘The hungry caterpillar’ and discussing the different foods that the caterpillar tasted such as lollipops, cake and a variety of fruits. The children then wrote some simple sentences in their books such as ‘The caterpillar ate a lollipop and a cake’.
Getting creative later in the week, the children cleverly folded paper to create caterpillars as well as painting some symmetry butterflies.
