Wonderful Weaving

During Art, the boys and girls in Year 3 have looked at the work of the artist Julia Lidell. She is a textile artist who produces woven designs. They began by commenting on which pieces they liked the best and identified how her work made them feel before sketching one of her designs. In order to replicate her artistic style, the boys and girls then designed a castle flag to create using weaving.  Before they could begin, they made a cardboard loom and added warp strings to it. Then, while creating their final designs, they were able to follow an over and under woven pattern to produce their flags. The boys and girls were very proud of their finished work.
