Digital Devices

Over the past couple of weeks, the boys and girls in Year 3 have been learning about digital devices. They began by exploring what digital devices are and understand that digital devices accept inputs, follow a process and produce outputs. They then sorted items into digital devices and non digital devices; discussing the inputs and outputs of each. The children then looked at the benefits and drawbacks of using digital devices for certain tasks. They were challenged to recreate a piece of artwork using coloured pencils and using a paint program on the iPad. As they worked, the children shared their thoughts on which they preferred and why.  Together as a class, they discussed the pros and cons of each.
