This week in PSHE, the boys and girls in Year 3 were thinking about what makes a good friend. They worked in teams to rank qualities and attributes according to their level of importance. The children could be heard discussing their reasons and sharing examples of when friends had shown these qualities. They asked questions about the meaning of some of the trickier words such as, compassionate, tolerant and sympathetic, and then decided where these would fit in. The children shared how they feel when they are with their own friends and we also discussed times that friends had made them feel sad; identifying which of the qualities they lacked at that time and how the situation could have been handled better.
