In PE this half term we have enjoyed two sports….one being Boccia (an inclusive version of bowls) and we have just started golf!
We have been using all of our crazy golf seaside experience to start to perfect our golfing stance, the correct ways to hold the clubs and then how hard or gently to strike the ball. We always start without the clubs, using our feet and legs to understand the sideways stance and the pendulum swing. The children will use two different clubs over the next few weeks to look at striking the ball at a distance, at targets nearby such as cones and hoops and scoring points by controlling the distance they want the ball to travel.
It is great to try new and different sports at school and this one is always popular!
