Practice makes perfect at Angel Court this week as the children and residents prepare for their performance of the Legend of the Evergreen Trees. The residents each represent a tree from the story, the children are the birds and the North wind, whilst Elizabeth narrates. We are using all the props that we have created together each week, including the umbrella which makes the branches of the big pine that shelters the little bird and the other evergreen trees.
Elsie said she was happy to come into a home but had no idea how much fun she could have. Elsie was an SEND teacher in her hey day so the joy she had when she heard Angel Court had such a strong relationship with their local primary school, convinced her that Angel Court was the place to be. She said it’s so uplifting for us to be with the children, who bring so much energy and happiness. Elsie and Pat have moved in recently but it is so wonderful to see that they have instantly bonded with Vera. Vera is 99 and has been working with Harlow Green children for the last 9 years, in that time she has lost both her husband and her best friend, so to make new friends has been wonderful for her, and what a hoot they had giggling away and directing proceedings. They had the kids in stiches this week, comedy gold at Angel court.
