In order to celebrate World Religion Day, Year Six joined the rest of the school in learning about the religion of Sikhi.
This morning, each class attended a Bhangra dance workshop in the hall and enjoyed dressing up and learning routines which included hand movements, leg movements and even spins!
Back in the classroom, the children learned all about the Sikhi religion and its founder Guru Nanak. They then learned about the tenth and final Guru, Guru Gobind Singh and his influence over the holy book. In the afternoon, the children learned about the festival of Vaisakhi and found out about how Sikh’s celebrate this special day.
It was a very interesting day – we all learned lots of new facts and the children produced some thoughtful work showing their respect towards this religion.
