Year 3 will be learning about Ancient Egypt as part of their history topic. In our Forest School we have the opportunity to do some practical activities that help the children understand some of the challenges of living in other parts of the world.
In class we discussed irrigation, why it is important and some possible solutions to the problem of moving water. The children could see that transporting water is harder than it looks. We learned about the development of the Shaduf and how this invention changed the way the Egyptions farmed their land. These investigations will continue over the half term as the children attempt to build their own version of the Shaduf. This week the focus was on getting to know your team and beginning to plan what resources may be needed.
