Each year our school takes part in the RSPB Big School Birdwatch. The children really look forward to this event, which will be carried out across school. Very strong winds has postponed things, but this week the weather cleared and we saw perfect bird-watching conditions. The children set themselves up in various places in our Forest School and recorded their findings, these will be submitted next week.
Whilst the bird watch was going on some children chose to take on the one-armed nest building challenge. Making a nest with human hands and our very versatile opposable thumbs can prove tricky enough, imagine only having a beak. With one hand tied behind their backs the children chose materials (only those a bird can pick up), found a location then made a nest.
