Some of you have now been learning from home for an incredible 12 weeks and it continues to delight us when we see all the fantastic work that you are doing. This week, some of you have managed to brave the cold and rain and get outside for walks or to plant some lovely sunflowers. Baking seems to have been a popular hobby over the past few days and it has been lovely to see all your new kitchen creations. We have enjoyed reading your wonderful writing this week: the gadgets that you have written about sound so creative and it is a shame that none of these have been made for us to use yet! You should all be proud of the work you are doing and we can’t wait to see what you get up to in the coming weeks!
The year 6 staff have loved seeing many of your faces again this week and it has been great to catch up with those of you who have returned to school. Although their return to teaching has kept them busy, Mrs Galvin and Mr Allen have been keeping active with plenty of dog walks and Miss Callaghan has been using her time at home to perfect her cheesecake-making skills. Mrs Innes has also been home-schooling her daughters when she has not been at work, but she cannot wait to see all your smiling faces in the future.
In the coming weeks, we will continue to post weekly tasks for grammar, writing, reading and maths. We look forward to seeing how hard you all continue to work, and don’t forget to email us so that we can see how you are getting on. Remember, we also have our new ‘Communities’ topic for you to work through- it has lots of opportunities to get outside and enjoy the fresh air while also learning about our local area.
It has been a strange 12 weeks without seeing all your faces although we feel lucky to have reunited with some of you this week. Everyone at Harlow Green is proud of the fantastic work that you are doing, both at home and in school. Keep it up and , most of all, stay safe.
