As another weekend approaches, it seems that we have lots of fantastic work to share and celebrate with you all. This week, we have been amazed by your writing tasks: you have clearly given these a lot of time and effort and should be very proud of your hard work. In reading these, we have discovered new facts about your family members and even some famous writers and comic book creators. We have also been impressed by how well you all used your reading skills when completing your Captain Tom Moore comprehensions and your work on Mathletics has been fab too. Mrs Jennings class have been victorious in this week’s TT Rockstars Battle, and we look forward to a rematch in the future. Some of you have been completing your own science experiments this week or using your computing skills to produce your own PowerPoints. Others have been keeping busy in the kitchen by baking or making health recipes from Joe Wicks. It really makes us smile to see all of your fantastic home learning and we already can’t wait to see what you get up to next week.
Your teachers have had a strange 12 weeks without seeing all your faces, so it was fantastic to finally reunite with a few of you this week. We look forward to seeing more of you in the coming weeks, however we know that you will all continue to make us proud with the work you complete at home. Mrs Jennings and Mrs Dale have enjoyed catching up with those of you they have seen this week and they can’t wait to hear what you have all been up to during your time at home. Miss Alexander was also delighted to see some more of you and, although her return to school has kept her busy, she has still found time to try some new recipes in the kitchen.
For those of you who are continuing to learn from home, we will be posting weekly tasks for you to complete in reading, writing, grammar and maths. We have now also launched our new ‘ communities’ topic, which is filled with ideas to help you learn about our local area. We hope that, when the weather improves, you can all enjoy some time outside and make the most of your daily exercise outdoors.
These are strange times we are in and you have all been missed by the year 5 team. As more of you begin to return to school, we are excited to hear all about your time at home. In the meantime, you should all be proud of your fantastic attitudes towards your home learning and we can’t wait to see what next week has in store for you all. Keep up the great work and stay safe.
