In English, we have been looking at using an apostrophe for possession. The classes have spent time learning how to use an apostrophe to show that something belongs to a singular or plural noun. They have had the opportunity to identify when and why an apostrophe has been used and have written some sentences of their own using the possessive apostrophe correctly.
On Wednesday, the children enjoyed playing a game to help them differentiate between when an -s is added to a plural word or when -‘s is needed to show possession. This enabled the children to explain their answers and show that they understood the difference between the two. We are sure that you will enjoy spotting apostrophes when out and about over the next few weeks!
